will getting a bank of America secured credit card make my credit score go up?

im only 18 and i’d like to get my credit score up its only 650 would getting a secured card help me at all?

  1. Any revolving credit you have can both help and hurt you. If you pay on time, stay at less than 50% of your credit limit and carry a small balance, it can definitely help you.

    If you miss even one payment, never use the card, or carry too high of a balance versus the maximum limit, it will trash your credit score.

  2. Absolutely it will help a lot! But check out all your options for credit cards at:

    With a score of 650 your credit is ‘Average’ and thus you should select ‘Average’ on the menu on the left. In that way you can get non-secured cards that will improve your credit score but will not require you to place a security deposit!
