  1. Chase.. NOT VISA!! or Master Card

  2. CitiCards…my first card was given a $3800 credit line with 12.99% APR, compared to a $2500 credit line with 14.95% APR from AmericanExpress. I’m a student and never have a job, these were not student-cards either.

  3. I have a Wired Plastic Secured Visa,but it doesn’t rebuild my credit .

  4. Orchard Bank. Low APR, low minimum deposit. Go to. Loads of information there. Good luck!

  5. I highly recommend Bank of America’s secured card. The minimum to open it is $250, which they place on a savings account for a year. You may increase your limit after 3 months by adding more money to the savings account. After the year is up, they’ll return you money plus interest earn (very low rate) and they review your account and may issue you an unsecured card. It helps you build your credit because it reports to all three credit bureaus. I highly recommend keeping you balances below 30 % of your total credit limit. Hope this helps!

  6. bank of america usually not bad

  7. First off, if you apply for any credit you will have to provide some type of employment information on the application. Typically for a “secured” credit card they will not verify your employment, but it will be listed on the credit bureau they use to inquire about your credit.

The best programs are from Wells Fargo & Bank of America. They are have low annual fees, no application fees, no maintenance fees, and lower interest rates. They are available in all 50 states. Both Wells Fargo and Bank of America report their accounts to all 3 credit bureaus.

Stay away from the “Sub Prime” crap like First Premier, Capital One & Orchard Bank. They have lots of hidden fees.

    Good Luck
