  1. check they have many gas credit cards available

  2. I had a good experience with several cards. It really depends on your personal spending and paying habits. Check what is best for you here:

  3. you might want to go here to compare them,

  4. The first credit card for gas that you can apply online is the Discover Gas Card.

Another card that is an instant approval card, having gas rewards along with various other rewards is the Hilton Honors Platinum Credit Card. It gives rewards at eligible gas stations, supermarkets, and many other places.

While choosing a credit card that offers you gas back, you should consider whether the rewards should be taken off of the gas or if the purchases at the gas station make you eligible for other types of rewards. E.g. on the Hilton card, you get rewards for your gas purchases but are more of rewards given by Hilton, rather than cash back for gas. So consider this point carefully when applying for a credit card with gas rewards.

  5. The Citi Driver’s Edge pays 6% on gas station spending (and grocery stores and drug stores) for the first year. The AmEx Blue Cash pays up to 5% on gas station spending (but it’s tiered).

You can use this rewards calculator to see which credit card will pay you the most for your gas station spending:
