free credit card

You hear all of these adds for Freecreditreport.com, but when I visit the site it looks like a scam; it is asking me for my credit card information.

Where can I visit a hassle-free site that does not ask for a credit card number to get a credit check?

Also, do credit checks hurt my credit if done too often?

  1. freeannualcredit.com

  2. Call your bank or a mortgage company!

  3. all of the others i have been to look like scams to me as well. I have tried this one last month and the DO NOT ask for credit card info.

    hope this helps :-)

  4. You can do once per year for free. Just be cautious that the bureaus will try to lead you into paying them for extra features. You can skip these and still get the free basic report. It’s usually multiple inquiries that hurt you so checking once is fine.

  5. experian free credit report.com

  6. It’s not a scam, but they try to get you to buy: a 3-in-1 credit report or credit score. The annual credit report is the best one and I know that it’s free because I get one every year. You are entitled to a free credit report from each of the 3 credit reporting bureaus (they try to sell you on the score part), but you can refuse and just get the report. If you give them an email address, they will send you a reminder the following year. Inquiring about your credit history yourself does not hurt your credit. It’s only when a merchant (Bank, Insurance Company etc. inquires that your score goes down. If you give them the credit card number, they will not use it.

  7. Go to AnnualCreditReport.com. ACR is the only government approved website to receive your free credit reports. It’s easy, 100% Free - No credit card required!
You’re allowed one free report per bureau, once every 12 months.
Pulling your own credit does not hurt your score in any way. However, when you apply for credit you’ll see a slight drop. Just don’t apply for too much credit at one time.
