  1. it depends on your credit score

  2. It really depends on your credit. It could be as low as 200-300. This would be if your credit score is less than 620. If you have a credit score of 750 or higher and you have a great income, it could be 100k..
I have pretty good credit score of 700 and have a limit of 10k.

  3. different people have different limits.

depends on you. Mine is $40,000. I have a couple at $20,000 and one at $12,000. i NEVER charge anything close to any of that.

  5. Depending on what your credit score is and how responsible they can see you have been with credit, like your highest balance, if you’ve ever gone over the limit, etc…. They give you your limit based on that information. So it could range anywhere between $500-No limit.

  6. The first MasterCard I got in 1973 had a $300 limit and my dad had to co-sign. Now 35 years later it has a $20,000 limit (and my dad has passed on).

At another bank I somehow ended up with 2 cards, and when I cancelled one, they added that limit to the other card, so it now has a limit of $40,300.

But nobody here is going to have a clue what your initial credit limit would be, because we don’t know if you are a college student with a temporary part time job and $80,000 in student loans, or if you have too much income to contribute to a Roth IRA. For all we know you could be one of the numerous people who asks “Where can I get a loan with bad credit?”.

You are not going to know your limit until you apply for the card and see what they send you.

Then just go get a American Express! Most cards don’t have limits. However, I’m sure MasterCard can give you what ever you need. If you qualify.

  8. MasterCard limits can be as much as $100,000 for a commercial account. In most cases, maximum personal limits are about $10,000 and can be adjusted upwards under various circumstances.

The credit line is determined by credit worthiness and a number of other factors.

The reason MasterCard won’t give you answer when you ask is because it is not possible to determine a credit limit by speaking to someone on the phone. Whomever you spoke to did not wish to be heard as committing a particular limit to you by announcing maximum limits.
