What happens when I make a purchase on my credit card’s payment date?

For example, if my credit card payment is due today but I make a purchase, does go onto next months billing cycle?

  1. Yes, you will pay for it next month.
    Go by the closing date, not by date due.
    The closing date is the date they stop billing and send you the bill in the mail.

    Be careful if you are using someone elses credit card - they will find out.

  2. Yes I think it would have to. It takes time for the charge to get back to the billing department and then to send it out to the credit card owner.

  3. The payment date is just the date your payment is due. What will show up on your next statement is based on the closing date which can be a month before the payment date. The closing date is the end of the billing cycle.
