I was recently denied a credit card at Wal-mart. I wasn’t sure why since I have fairly good credit. I just received a letter in the mail explaining I was denied because they “cannot verify” my identity. What does this mean? Any help with this would be appreciated

Im going to buy some products online but don’t have a credit card and need to know if these types of gift cards could work to buy online.
(Note): I’m thinking about buying the gift card from WAL-MART.
