would someone please explain to me how the airline credits are calculated on your credit card, tell me which trips you took and with which airlines (like which airlines accept those credits), and which credit card (which bank card) do you use.
I have just started traveling a lot for my job and thought it would be a good idea to also get an airline credit card. This would be my first credit card, so choosing which one is very important to me.

I noticed the captial one credit card gives you 2 miles per dollar at half the annual fee. Where as an airlines card like Northwest is 1 dollar per mile and double the annual fee. Is it harder to reedem the miles from a non airline credit card?
I know some airlines offer points for signing up… which one offers the best deal? and no black out dates? I’ve heard awful things about United/America West… any other ideas?
If I wanted to get flyer miles for Continental Airlines, must I get their credit card? Or will just having an account be fine?
