My daughter just turned 18 and is interested in getting a credit card. Which company is the best for someone who has no credit card history. With the recent credit crunch, it appears that more and more credit card companies and banks are getting tougher with applications.

I have been thinking about getting into the credit card affiliate programs and just wanted to know who the best program is, and also some name of some forums that may speak a little about these as well.
Thank you in Advance.

I am looking to get a credit card basically for emergency purposes (mostly for those unexpected car repairs) and christmas time when I don’t have the money for gifts (I have a large family). What would be the ideal credit card for me to get? I have2 store credit cards, which are always paid off before I even recieve the bill, and an excellent credit score due to those cards, and student loans. I am looking for a card that doesnt have an annual fee, any suggestions?

I’ve read the info from the websites so please don’t refer me to them. I’m looking for personal experiences only.

And if they advertise that you get 2500 bonus miles, can you fly almost anywhere at any time you want?

I may have been misinformed but I was told various airlines allow you to use their airport club rooms at no charge when you hold a certain credit card. I believe it was one of the American Express cards. Delta, US Airways may be among those which allow guests with the card. Have you ever heard of this?

Whilst processing your credit card the bank returned the following error:-
Declined. Sorry this transaction has been declined by your card issuer. No further information was passed to WorldPay as part of your confidentiality agreement with your card issuer. You may wish to try another card

I have a card that is paid off and compared to my other cards, it’s limit pales in comparison. I want to close it. However it is one of two oldest accounts. The oldest account has a limit 4X that of the one I want to get rid of and that one is paid off too. Would getting rid of such a small available credit account really do that much to my score either way? Or should I continue to let it sit and use it for holiday shopping like I did this last Christmas? It’s annoying to have a credit card that has been increased ONCE since I opened it while the others are increased every 6 months to a year.
The one time they increased my limit- it was b/c I called them.
