mastercard?
i opened up a joint back account, which is in a different city than where i am now (about 2 hours away). they sent my fiance and i a mastercard debit card for each of us. well it turns out that the only way to activate the cards is to use them at an atm to get an inquiry. so we tried that and it does not work. the screen says the card is not valid. i called my bank and reported the problem and they said they would call me back, but they never did. the card completely unusable, which is odd because neither of the cards have ever been used before. there’s money in the account, but we cannot access it because the card won’t work. what can i do??? thanks in advance!
Call the number on the card and ask to speak with a supervisor. Firmly but politely tell them that their response has been unacceptable and that you want the card working immediately or you will move your money to another bank.
First, it has to be activated at a bank owned ATM not any ATM.
There was not a phone number where you can call to activate it? There is not a branch location of your bank that is local?
Why would you have a bank you don’t have access to? That makes no sense.
Looks like you need to make the 2 hour drive and get your money out of your account and moved to a closer bank.
