  1. Try annualcreditreport.com

You’ll get all three credit bureau’s files for free once a year. It’s required for them to provide.

Alternatively you can write them each and ask for your annual credit report, but visiting the site is best.

  2. The easiest way to get a free credit report is to sign up for a new credit card! Sign up for a card that you know you will get turned down for, or ask for a limit increase you know you won’t get. The issuer will deny you, but, they are required by law to tell you that you’ve been denied and that you are entitled to a copy of the credit report they used to determine your status. Send them a response telling them you want that free copy, and there you go!

  3. Did you know that you can usually find a local credit beaurea office in most medium and larger towns and cities. Check your phone book and look them up. IF not, contact each of the three credit beaureaus directly. Each of them has a 1-800 phone number and a fax number. You can arrange with them to E-mail, fax or snail mail it to you. These are the safest ways to get your information and keep prying eyes out or your business. The online companies that you can use will keep a copy of your credit report. Once they have it, you have NO WAY OF KNOWING what they do with your information. IF you read the FINE PRINT of their privacy statements, you will usually find that you give them the right to review it and share it with their associates. YOU WILL NEVER, EVER know who their associates (third parties) are and will not be able to control access to your report once they have it in hand.

    I hope this helps.

  4. Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options 4 U. Check it out……..

  5. is free for all three credit reports and you can monitor it for 30 days free and print for free. You have to wait a year to get another free one from the site. The new laws require that you have access to your credit report for free once a year and so this website was set up to meet that law. This is the granddaddy of all credit reporting websites. The others trick you into paying something.

  6. Freecreditreport.com is the first place you can go to obtain your report. You don’t have to have any credit cards, outstanding loans etc. You are by law allowed one free credit report, (basic version) issued to you a) annually, or b) if you have applied for credit in some way or another within the past 60 days and have been denied. If you have applied for credit and have been denied then you will have a letter come in the mail. It will have the toll-free number of the credit bureau that gave the applied creditor your report. All you have to do then is call the number and submit your Social Security Number and it will be mailed to you. I suggest though going to Equifax.com. You can purchase a credit report with a debit card for around $11. It’s very thorough. I do it every 6 months. It will tell you what your score is, and what factors are preventing you from getting the purchasing power you desire, as well as collections reports, and the address and phone numbers of those agencies, all prior addresses, and past credit history. Good luck to you in your search.

  7. AnnualCreditReport.com is the only government approved website to receive your free credit reports.
You don’t need a credit card nor are you required to register for credit monitoring services.
Just answer a few questions and…voilà! Your reports are ready to view and print.

Under the FACT Act, you’re allowed one free report per bureau, once every 12 months.
You can spread ‘em out or get ‘em all at once.
