Is it possible to add rewards to a credit card when it didn’t have any originally?

My credit card is from MBNA/Bank of America. This is the first credit card I was given. It’s just a basic credit card…no rewards, benefits, etc. I am looking to add rewards to it so I have incentive to use it as opposed to my other cards with rewards.

  1. Nope not at all, when you sign up for a card read what it comes with. Most of them will tell you if it’s a rewards card or not.

  2. No, you can possibly ask the issuer for an upgrade to a reward card. In all likelyhood you will have to make apply for one though.
