I need help deciding which student credit card to get?
I’m planning to get a student credit card just in case I need to use it when I go to South Korea this summer.
I don’t know if I should get:
Citi mtvU™ Platinum Select Visa Card for College Students
or Citi Platinum Select Visa Card for College Students.
Which one is better? Thanks.
I just need help choosing between the two cards I listed, not any other cards. Thanks

Both these Citibank credit cards are equally rated.
There is a student card with a higher rating, but it requires some kind of good credit history: It’s the Capital One No Hassle Rewards Card for Students.
It is definitely a good idea to travel with a credit card for convenience in making payments as well as for emergencies. Check the credit cards “terms and conditions” for travel insurance programs etc.
Hope you have a great trip!
I like the Citi mtvU™ Platinum Select Visa Card for College Students . You earn great rewards while still in college. Click the link below to research all of the available student credit cards and apply for your favorite.
Get the Platinum Select the interest rate is 3 points lower!
If you use applyfastbankcards to apply for the mtvU or the Platinum select you will get paid $20, they pay people their commision when someone applies through their site! Have a great time in South Korea, the DMZ is intense.
My opinion is to go with the Citi® Platinum Select® Visa Card for College Students. It has no annual fee and there is not a minimum income requirement nor a cosigner requirement. It offers 0% APR for 6 months as well as 0 liability on unauthorized charges and a lost wallet service so it’s a safe bet if you’re going to be using the card overseas in South Korea.
The Citi® mtvU™ Platinum Select® Visa Card for College Students offers these “ThankYou points®” to redeem for gift cards and MTV™ related events and promotions mainly in the United States. FYI this card also has a 0% APR offer for 6 months. Just my opinion, but the Citi® Platinum Select® seems to offer more “mature” card features. You should consider comparing both credit cards side by side before applying.
