I booked a flight last year on my credit card. Airline is bankrupt. Can I get a refund from my credit card?

airline credit card

I called my credit card and they said since it’s been over 6 months, they cant do anything. Is the 6 months period a limit of the Fair Credit Billing Act?
icalled some of the other airlines to see if they can help, best thing they can do was give me a discount on way tickets. it was cheaper for me to buy new rountrip tickets than use their discounts. So I ended up purchasing 2 roundtrip tickets and will be filing a bankruptcy claim as well as a credit card claim…maybe i’ll get both! :)

  1. You can get a refund. Just stand in line behind about 1,000,000 other creditors and they’ll get to you.

  2. Your best hope would be that other carriers will honor the tickets. They have done it in the past but no guarantees.

  3. There is an article in the NYT today that
indicates that passengers are left out in
    the cold…..once again.
