How to set up a paypal account using Indian credit card or debit card (savings account)?

I want to open a paypal account to receive/transfer money from/to international customers. I tried setting up using my ICICI credit card but failed. ???

Can somebody please help me?

Any suggestion regarding paypal account, or receive/transfer money from/to international customers, is most welcome.

  1. I am not sure what it is named now but paypal has another name in India. Or so it did a while back.

  2. yes the same happened to me when i tried to use a debit card, it was rejected .. quite a headache.

    U will need a credit card to confirm ur account to increase the limit (setting up an account as u know is free), but to confirm they will charge ur cc (that would be refunded with the next payment transaction). With this charge they will send some no. u will need to quote that to them. I have used hdfc cc to register.
