credit card payment

Hello. I made a payment by credit card for a web hosting service. It didn’t return any error, and I even received my confirmation email. However, I cannot use the service yet because it says my order is still being processed. How long does such an order usually take to be processed? Thanks!.

  1. 3 business days on the average. sometimes 2. on a rare occasion it can take 4. if afer 5 you have not finished transaction check with your bank. if it has posted with them then contact the web hosting service and inform them. you may need to file a claim if it is not resolved withing 6 business days. key word is still business days. I get calls all day long of people asking why something did not process on the weekend. thats because weekends and holidays don’t count for processing, evern if the banking center is opened.

  2. I’m actually willing to bet that the portion of your order that is being processed is the actual inception of your service rather than the transaction itself.

Depending on what services you purchased, there are certain things that the company you paid for hosting services has to do to get your URL up for you to start uploading to. The transaction itself should have been authorized immediately even if it was not settled.

When a purchase is made with a credit card it is usually immediately authorized but is not settled until the end of the business day. Most of the purchases that you make are not fully processed until well after you walk out of the door with your goods or services.

The bad news here is that you are at the mercy of the company you are dealing with as to when you can use your services. If you feel that you have waited too long you should inform this company that you are going to dispute the transaction if they do not start up your service or give you an acceptable timetable.
