How do you use credit card at gas pump?
I always see these credit card machines on the gas pump but I’ve never used one before because I don’t want to ***** it up. One thing I’ve wondered is do you put the card in before or after you pump the gas and does it ask you any questions on the display screen? Anyway I imagine it is pretty easy to do.

there are directions on the machines. look at the picture and it will show you which side the magnetic stripe is supposed to be on. first you swipe it then pump. just read the steps there are about 4
read the instructions posted on the pump!
You put the credit card in first thing., In most cases you don’t really need to press any buttons. The machine will know what to do. Just insert the card into the slot and remove it quickly. Then follow the directions on the screen.
follow directions at the pump, provided you can read.
slide it in and take it out right away and follow the steps shown on the screen….very simple
WOW!!! You are intelligent enough to write this question, but you can’t read the gas pump.
Everyone I have seen says on the display screen “pay by credit card”. You push the button next to that (though you don’t have to) then you insert your card. It authorizes the card and then you pump your gas. When you are done it says “would you like a receipt” and you push yes or no accordingly.
Now you can also just insert & remove your card and it will assume you are paying by credit and then you can follow the prompts from there…
Good Luck and have fun with your new found freedom to pay at the pump!
very simple…put the credit card in before you start the pump…it may ask you if it is a credit or a debit from your checking account. the credit card is automatically authroized before you start the pump. After filling, return the nozzle to the base and the readout will ask you if you want a receipt….your call…its that simple the charges show up on your monthly bill
