How do you figure out the company that billed my credit card?
OK so here is my situation. I’m an idiot. On Saturday I ordered a monitor online, I went through one of those comparison websites where it gives you a bunch of stores at one time. I don’t remember which company I ordered it from. I never did receive a confirmation email which was my first red flag. I thought I knew which company but they have none of my information on file. I checked with my credit card company, It was billed as Computer Software Store, How do I find out which website that it came from or can I even do that? Again I realize I’m an idiot for not remembering which website I ordered it from, but like I said I swear I knew it and when I checked with them they have none of my information. I don’t know what to do. I just want to check on the shipping and see when it should be arriving but now I fear that I’m getting screwed!!

Did you ask your credit card company if they had contact info for the store? They usually will have a phone number for it.
The credit card company should have the contact information of the company that charged to your account. Getting a phone number for them would be a beginning.
If it turns out it was a fraudulent charge, most credit card companies give you protection coverage against that, up to a certain dollar amount. I know Visa does. In fact, even if it is a legitimate company, but the product never shows up and you have made all good-faith attempts to track the merchandise, they will still refund your money.
Start with the credit card company for information on the company. Good luck!!
Tell your credit card company about the fraud, and they’ll handle it. It’s next to impossible these days for credit card companies not to have an online fraud handling department.
If you were charged and didn’t get the item, tell the company and they’ll handle it. If you report it soon enough they might even give you your money back.
The credit card company should be able to help you out, since they are doing the electronic transfer to them. A telephone number, email address, etc. When I receive my statements, usually there is a phone number next to the creditor’s name.
There should be something on each of the websites telling you how it will appear on your credit card statement. Sometimes these smaller stores use an outside billing service, so you may have to contact them directly.
If this doesn’t work, I guess you’ll just have to wait until it arrives. If it doesn’t arrive when expected, report it immediately to your credit card company as fraud. You shouldn’t be responsible for the charge and they will investigate it further.
you might have to check the history of the visited sites, that might bring a hint, or browse the compurison site you might be lucky to get something out of it.
good luck
It is okay…and you are not an idiot…these people that try to rip off honest people are the idiots …bot the good news is you are protected by your credit card…first of all you have credit purchase protection from any major credit card…so call the number on the back of the card and follow the prompts…you really need to speak to a live representative and they can tell you exactly who has billed your card for what…when you determine the merchant name…they normally will provide you the contact info…then you can either contact them or ask the card representative to contact them while you are on the phone with them…my master card asked me once to three way a company that I refused for my credit card to pay because I did not make the purchase and everytime I tried we got cut off so the rep made the three way call for me and it was quickly resolved…but you have the right to stop the payment or demand re-inbursement on any credit card purchase and this is on any purchase …especially if you thought it was legit and somebody has tried to scam you…I hope this helps and please do not think you are stupid…we all can do this because we believe we can trust and it is sad that so many people are out to ***** us , and it may turn out they are legit…just call customer service for your card and they will get it straight for you…
