Can anyone give me some information for a good credit card to apply for that you can earn free airline tickets for each purchase you make using the card.

You won’t get an airline ticket for each purchase, but if you do enough purchases, the rewards points may add up. For example, if you sign up for a card that gives you say 15000 or more airline miles for signing up for the card and then pay an expensive bill like college tuition and books with the card. I paid for a funeral with a rewards card. If your purchases are more normal like groceries and gas, it will take you a while to earn that free ticket.
Most major airlines have arrangements with certain credit card issuers (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX). One option is to go to the airline of your choice, click the link for the airline credit card and apply for the credit card of your choice. Be aware, most of them have annual fees. The annual fees may exceed the cost of some round trip airline tickets if you shop on line … depending on where you are flying to and from. Unless you pay the card off each month, you will not gain enough to be worth it.
Another choice is to look for credit cards that offer airline mileage as part of their reward program. At least one of them advertise on TV that their card does not have “blackout days” which most of the cards above would have because the airline frequent flyer programs they are linked to.

Note that that rewards calculator at is also good for figuring out which rewards card will pay you the most for your normal spending. You may find that a cash back card like AmEx Blue Cash or Chase Freedom will actually pay you more than a miles rewards card (and of course the cash can be used for airline tickets or anything).
