Aloha Air just filed bankruptcy and we have 140,000 miles. Does anyone know what’s happening to those miles, or been in a similar circumstance?
haha, ScubaGirl! I’m flying high on my Heineken, right now! :)

  1. They FLY away..??!!

    Sorry. Couln’t resist.

  2. Many US airlines have filed for bankruptcy, continued to operate and the frequent flyer miles were not affected, however Aloha has announced they will no longer fly and all flights have been cancelled. According to the Aloha website, their frequent flyer program expires on 3-31-08 and your miles will no longer be honored, here’s the website:

  3. Aloha Airlines has announced today that they have ceased operations in the Hawaiian Islands, and all air miles are, sorry to day, no more. In a situation with a credit card, I would definitely contact your issuing bank, as I have had several air mile cards in the past which have been purchased by another bank, however not in this type of situation. Sadly, the last passenger flight will leave from Kahului tonight, land in Honolulu at 10:34PM and Aloha Airlines will be no more, short of a miracle. They did say something about Aloha Airline credit card holders on the news this morning, but I couldn’t watch it anymore. I will let everyone know if I find out anything. In the meantime…Aloha O’e and Mahalo to Aloha Airlines
