Credit hit with mortgage application and credit card application?

I would like to apply for a credit card. Will the application impact my credit score if I apply for a mortgage 3 weeks down the road?

it will show on your credit report, dont do it it could impact your score as it will show new account, and if u run up charges it will hurt the score, wait till after you get the mortgage
