Can someone explain how a prepaid visa card works?
I don’t have a bank account. I will get one if I need to, but I would rather not.
There’s something I need to buy that I can only get online, and I have a prepaid visa card.
What’s the difference between a visa credit and a prepaid visa card? Are they the same thing? Can I check “visa credit card” as my payment option?
If not, how do I use it to buy what I need to buy?

yeah, it’s a gift card you use like a credit card basically
ill explain exactly how a visa gift card works and the steps to get it
1.buy one from a store
2.register online so the real plastic one can be sent to you (the stores dont sell the card, just a number)
3.receive you visa prepaid card
4.pay monthly fee (starting at $5+ depending on which version of the card you get) and keep your card topped up
visa gift cards work fine online, its just you have to pay a monthly fee and be over 18, and you have to pay a starting fee as well
You can use the prepaid visa to pay for it just the same as you would a secured visa. Some stores sell them as gift cards and pretty much disposable after the money off them is used, however there are others mainly Master Cards like what I have and you can use it and reload it as needed for a small fee. I pay $2.00 to reload it with money at the check cashing place where I bought it. The Green Dot brand ones they sell at the market charge $4.99 to reload. ***I highly recommend getting a bank account because usually they’ll give you a Visa debit and you can use that of course wherever they take visa and if there’s money in your account. Plus you save the fee of always having to reload the card. LONG story short you can just check Visa when buying online.
The cards sold at walmart are expensive. Check out the card here there is $0 activation fee and the fees are much lower. Good luck!
