Can I use a credit Card right after being accepted without having the card?

I have really good credit and have paid off all credit cards as I use them. Now, I have a large purchase I want to make. If I apply for a card and get approved online, it will take 7-10 days to get the card. Can I somehow use the card without physically having the card in my possession?

Yes but you can only use it online but you can’t walk into a store without the card.

  3. If you know the card number, start date, expiry date, name on the card, registered billing address and security code, plus any other security on the card, you can use it. Why do you need a new card ? Can’t you use one you already have ?

  4. You can use it online, or, if it gave you the option of printing a temporary shopping pass and you printed it, you could use the temp shopping pass in stores. If you didn’t print it (or it didn’t give you the option), then you’ll have to wait until the card comes to you in the mail.

  5. LOL! No. The number has not been generated yet and it has not been activated.

  6. You can’t use it until you get the card the main reason being the online company will ask you for the last 3 digits off the back of the card, the credit card company can’t tell what these numbers are as they will only have the account number and expiry date on the records.

  7. Yes but only online or over the phone. You have to call them.
