A Sears credit card?

sears credit card

Do Sears credit cards check on your credit or do they go by your income. i had a sales rep. to tell me that they are based on income, but i personally think shes misinformed because its a credit card, yet it is just for appliances in Sears that you can charge on it and you make low monthly payments on it, so im not sure. anyone know?

  1. they do check credit. any dept store card will always check credit. it is for anything in sears but there are few things, besides appliances, one would need from Sears. just like any other credit card you can make the monthly payments for it little bit at a time. they will actually be very low payments like 10 or 20 dollars. reason being is that Sears has one of the highest interest rates of any card out there. somewhere like 25% or something.

Because it’s underwritten by a bank, it goes by credit score and all that goes with getting any other credit card.

    Good Luck.

  3. it’s a credit card of course they will check your credit.
it’s not only for appliances, it’s for everything in the store

  4. They do check your credit. It is hard to get one in fact. But instead of credit why not pay cash or use a debit card. You can do the same things with a debit card as you can with a credit card. You should also read the book “Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey. He has great info on the subject.

it goes by both.. if you make under a certain amount they will not approve you no matter what the credit score, but they do check your credit as any credit card company does. IF you get declined, you will get a letter and it will go on your credit report.

Personally, I dislike the amt. of interest they charge. Your best be would be to get a low interest rate card that can be used anywhere.

  7. All credit card issuers check your credit. Your income can be used to calculate debt to income ratios, that is sometimes used to calculate credit limits. Some department stores issue a different type of credit when you use it for appliances or furniture. My Dillard’s card is a regular credit card but I have something on it for furniture that provides me with no interest for 6 months, which means a lower payment. Don’t trust what cashiers say, must are not educated through the work place about credit cards.

  8. All I can say is that it has low monthly payments so they make sure that you will be paying for that washer 10x over and over again. Don’t get one.

  9. Credit Score!

  10. Yes. The issuer is CitiCorp. and they pull a hard inquiry from your Experian credit report. Since this is instant credit, that’s 20-points that you loose for that inquiry.

Many claim the card is difficult to get and it is., i got mine with a lousy $900.00 credit line 10-months ago, they recently increase to a lousy $1,000.00.

And my credit history is clean with scores at that time at 755 TransUnion, 751 Experian and 704 Equifax, with no balances {I paid my bills in full each month} and or course no high utilization of my credit lines.

I been told by many of their representatives that there are days that you won’t get approved and others that you will but with low credit lines they reason is still unknown.

  11. Sears credit cards are the worst, nastiest, most vile things to have. Do not get one!!! If you are late with a payment, they harrass you like no one’s business. We paid ours off, but they made a mistake. They were calling us night and day trying to get us to prove their mistake.

We finally got it settled a couple weeks later. I cancelled my card and will not shop there anymore.

  12. if it says “credit” in the name of the card, then it will check on your credit. dont get a credit card, Sears will only ***** you.
